The Moonlight Fund provides 24/7 assistance to burn survivors and their family members, as well as families who have lost a loved one to a burn injury. The Moonlight Fund addresses the financial, emotional and physical needs in the hour of need. The Moonlight Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Kyle & Amanda Franklin: Internationally known pilot Kyle Franklin is currently being treated for burns in San Antonio after their March 12, 2011 accident. His wife and internationally known wing walker Amanda Franklin died died on May 27 after 76 days of treatment. Amanda will always be a Wingwalker, she has simply found a new set of wings. The needs of burn survivors and their families are great.
In addition to the human loss and suffering from a burn injury, often homes and personal belongings are destroyed as a result of fire and even jobs are lost due to extended medical treatment. What's more, many burn patients are uninsured or on government assistance, encumbering them and their families financially when ongoing treatment, such as physical therapy or psychological counseling, is needed the most.
